Fever-Hospital Stay

Hi Julie: I had the same thing happen to me but on a different drug combo. I started running a fever and having chills so I called my Onc. he was off for the weekend and had another Dr. covering for him. That Dr. had me go to the hospital whereupon they admitted me so they could run me through a battery of tests. One of the things they were worried about was that my "Port" could have been infected also they wouldn't let me leave until my white blood count (which was practically non-existant) got to a certain level. Everything came back clear and by this time my reg. Dr. was back so he "sprung me from the joint". LOL I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. Take Care, Linda
