Re: The Campfire
Sorry, Celeste, no fresh trout here today. We went out kayaking today, but I only caught a few smallmouth bass and threw them back. I'm still learning the waters up here, but I can hear those trout calling me....here let me throw a few more sticks on the fire. It's a nice clear night. Wow, hear those crickets chirping?

Re: The Campfire
Thanks for putting some more wood on the fire Bill. I thought I would drop by for some R & R in my hammock and to share a thermos of hot tea with whoever shows up.

Re: The Campfire
I just promised Bill that we would keep the campfire burning while he is away, so I thought I would take the first shift and drop by with some wood for the fire and a thermos of green tea for whoever drops by after me.

Re: The Campfire
Elain,
Thanks for keeping the fire burning.
My niece (Oldest Brother's daughter) is visiting from overseas and has been cooking good meals for us. She is so beautiful and pleasant. It's hard to believe that she's already got her master's degree (in computer science - and she's been fixing [cleaning up] my computer for me.) I left home when she was two years old.
It's going to be overcast this whole week. I hope she'll get to do some planned sight-seeing in San Antonio and Austin.

I hope your niece is enjoying her visit Jackie. I know you are enjoying her cooking.
I am just dropping by with some wood for the fire, some multi grain cereal with almond milk and orange juice for whoever wants it.

I see Steph is gardening, so I thought I would drop by to clean up the campfire area and then enjoy some quiet time in my hammock between the trees.

Re: The Campfire
I see summer has you all quite busy...well I'm here at the fire for my two year cancerversary, so stop on by and bring your instruments and share some songs with me by the fire when you finish your summer fun on this beautiful day. Let's see if I can successfully post this video of one of my favorite songs, and my favorite instrument, the banjo! Get your boogie on boys and girls!!

Re: The Campfire
Congratulations go out to Celeste who successfully battled cancer. You are a warrior! Now could someone throw some red cedar on the fire to get rid of the mosquitos?

Re: The Campfire
It's beautiful, thank you. [We love Steve Martin, especially when he's playing the banjo. ]
Lee, mosquitos like me because I'm very 'warm-blooded'. So my mere presence here is going to help repel the bugs from everyone... Unless, of course, I have prepared beforehand with 'Skin-so-soft' - the Avon product my late Mother-in-law claimed effective to repel the bugs. [She's the 'Avon lady', so use your own judgement... ]

Re: The Campfire
Watermelon juice makes me burp. I would suggest a belching contest, but I am much too suave and cultured to even think of something that crass.

Re: The Campfire
You guys still having a burping contest over here? Glad to see we've bonded to that comfort level with each other!

Re: The Campfire
Great to see you at the campfire !! Hope you are doing well.
Yeah. Colleen's husband seems to think it is a good idea.
Personally I don't think so, so I kindly suggested he bring his own beverage if watermelon juice is not his beverage of choice. Watermelon has loads of good nutrition. It is also very refreshing. I juiced it and bottled it for future use, so I thought I would share a bottle with you guys.

Re: The Campfire
Just noticed the fire has been neglected for quite some time. I'm bringing some branches and twigs hoping to get it going again...

Re: The Campfire
Thanks for keeping the fire burning Jackie. I am just dropping by for some R & R. It is nice and peaceful here, as we go into autumn in the northern hemisphere.
By the way, has anyone heard from Bill? I haven't seen him around lately.

Re: The Campfire
Hi All,
I came to the campfire in peaceful thankfulness for the rescue of the miners in Chile and for the international cooperation that resulted in their rescue.

Re: The Campfire
Thank you, Elaine. I couldn't think of a place to put my thankfulness - totally forgot about The Campfire. The Chileans sure have taught us many things. The rescuers never gave up. The survivors demonstrated the true surviving spirit. And the whole world responded...
