Re: Report went from her2 - to equivocal to her2 +

You certainly have every right to having your doctor explain it in NON pathology terms. And she should be able to do that.
I went to the pathologist to have him explain my results because they were unclear. AND he uncovered more information when he looked the second time!
Have your questions written down so you dont forget. And write the replies. Have someone with you.
Keep the faith.

Re: Report went from her2 - to equivocal to her2 +

The ladies here gave you great advice. Get a copy of your Path Report and start asking for copies of your labs and anything else at each visit. It's good to keep your own copies---and nice to have them if you seek out 2nd opinions. I know this is so over whelming and confusing when first DX...but your off to a great start and asking the right questions. It's your oncologist job to make sure you understand everything...it truly is your right...don't let them rush you in and out. Be as pro-active as possible. We will be happy to help you in anyway we can...so please stick around. We are here for you.

Re: Report went from her2 - to equivocal to her2 +

Pie,
The other ladies are right on! It is your right to know and understand everything that is happening to you, and there is a lot going on.
This is a great time to learn how to be your best advocate. I found that my oncology nurses are better at answering questions about side effects and remedies than the doctors. Don't ever be afraid to ask your doctor or nurse if you have questions.
I have copies of all my records, and was glad I did when I recently went for a second opinion.
We are here for you and will help in any way we can.
Stay strong and try not to worry too much. It really zaps the energy you need right now.
Look forward to hearing from you soon,
Emelie
