				I Have Shrinkage!!!!

This past week was a hectic one, after 6 treatments of Navelbine, my chemo was skipped until CT scans could verify if it was working. The nodes in my neck have remained unchanged, so it was questioned as to whether there was a response in my mediastinal and axillary nodes....well, CT confirmed that although the neck nodes are unchanged, the chest nodes had remarkable shrinkage, as did the axillary nodes. So, shrinkage and stable neck nodes....I stay on Navelbine, which I find incredibly easy after Taxol! Just wanted to share some good news, and hope....after over 4 straight years of chemo...things are still looking good! Like Pam...we are WAITING for a cure! Another update is that my hair is GROWNING.....I am so excited, Ok, Ok, I am grayer than my 81 yr old Mother, but I am so excited to have hair! My neighbor told me it looked "distinguished"....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Dear Sheila -SO HAPPY for you. BIG, broad grin!

You did not mention markers, but maybe they are not accurate with the nodes problem. Anyway, the scans are the main thing.

Staying on Navelbine should allow your hair to keep coming in. I know each time I lost mine it would come back quite gray and than as I got it trimmed up and it continued to grow, it would change back to my natural color. So, maybe yours will keep evolving.

Any chance to radiate or do another treatment to get those neck nodes in line??

All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
