Tykerb and Xeloda: split skin..ouch!
Has anyone had the problem with red, swollen feet and splitting of skin on bottom of feet? It feels like the stinging pain of "paper cuts." My onc has me on hydrocortisone creme and an antibiotic creme but I have one on the heel which doesn't seem to improve much. Any suggestions? Thanks, Ceesun

You should be able to search the forum for Xeloda side effects. My mom uses topical Henna, B6 supplement and GENTLE application of udder cream brand moisturizer, often available at wal-mart. Neosporin on open cuts.

I never tried it on my feet, but when my fingers were splitting, I went to Bath and Body and bought Glove Me Tender. It worked pretty quickly and as long as I keep using it, I don't have the skin splits. Hope it helps!

Ceesun,
I did not have as a treatment Tykerb/Xeolda,
(TCH)...but I also experienced (still one or two spots) of the red split skin. I use neosporin, then and this may sound strange... but I use Balmex (which is made for babies and diaper rash) works like a charm.
Heals the area fast (almost over night) the split area will be closed and already healing.. Keep replacing it on the area and rub the cream in. This can be purchased at any drug store...CVS, Walmart, etc.
Also use it on my chapped hands and it heals them fast.
Hope this helps you also, let me know.
Best Wishes,
jean
