Advocacy Opportunity - AACR Meeting Denver
The American Association of Cancer Research has a very interesting Advocacy program in conjunction with its annual meeting taking place in Denver.
They provide a full scholarship including travel and lodging.
More Information and Application

Joe, I am in the process of moving and might be unemployed for a while. IF I am, this conference would definitely be of interest to me. I will see how things go in the next few weeks, is anyone else from the Her2 site able to go?
Thanks for the info!
Marcia

Is it too late to apply for this program?
From the info in the link:
All applications must be received by Dec. 29, 2008.

I saw that but sent it anyway
StephN said: Is it too late to apply for this program?
I wondered that, too. On their home page for the program, they still have not updated the information (it still says the application will be available 11/20/08, which it was not when I checked before leaving for SABCS, and it's still not, from that page: http://www.aacr.org/home/survivors--...r-program.aspx ).
So I'm hoping that the deadline has been extended or that maybe that was an error. I sent my application today - I'll let you know if I hear back from them that it was too late, or not. They ask a lot of questions about what we do as advocates, and about the organization that we are affiliated with. Our little breast cancer committee in our little rural county is so small - I don't think my application will be accepted.
Who else is going, or has gone in the past?

Joe,
We have a wedding in Baton Rouge about the same time. I would like to apply next year. Please keep me in mind.
I had a bavarian cream Dunkin Donut and thought of you!
Hugs to you and Christine,
Donna
