My bags are packed...
I am all packed and very excited about going to California for the American Association of Cancer Research conference!!! I am taking a 6 am flight Thursday morning. Steph is coming in on Friday with Tiptoe and Tex, and Friday night we'll meet Joe and Christine for dinner!! I am taking my little laptop and my camera. I remembered to pack all the wires, so I'll be able to post pictures and updates on the weeks events. I'll be arriving a day early so I can sit by the (heated) pool and get a little Cali sun (got sunscreen). I know it will only be around 75, but that is so much better than the chilly days we've been having here on Long Island as of yet (I hear it'll be heating up as I board the plane - lol). I bought a new bathing suit and am thrilled to be 50 lb lighter than the last time I bought a bathing suit. I am staying 2 extra days after the conference to visit with my best friend from elementary school. I would like to thank Joe, Christine and all at the Her2 site this opportunity. Also, thanks to Bill - you know why!!! Oh - how cool is this??? My dearest best friend Liz is taking her daughter to Florida. She is leaving tomorrow morning...same airport...same time...same flight!!! we'll be together the first part of the trip and for the 2 hour layover in Atlanta. Then she and her daughter will go on to Disney, and I'll go on to Cali. Neither of us realized we booked the same early morning flight until just 2 days ago - lol. Goodnight, goodnight to all. Got to get up early...Love to all...

Madame Dubois is SO organized - I have not started my packing! But now I see she has her camera so I won't take mine. Her's had BETTER work!
I, too, am excited to attend this conference and hope I am as energized by this one as I was at San Antonio. Tip and Tex are chilling while I try to get my act together.
Going to watch the PBS program about Zora Neale Hurston now. She was my grandmother's maid in Miami when I was a baby and she was down and out for a while.

MARYANN! Tell me you did not fly American. Yikes. Over a 1000 cancellations. Regardless, once you get there -- you will soak in the sunshine and the hugs (from Joe, Christine, Steph, Tip and Tex) and more! So happy for you to have this fab opportunity, to be followed by still more giggles and such.
Looking forward to your posts and pics. (So we can all share the experience.) You're the best. You are so together and awesome in every way. Sending you love...

She made it
Talked to Maryanne and the trip went smoothly. I am flying Alaska on Boeing planes so don't expect any delays! What a pain in the posterior for SO MANY people having to endure these flight cancellations!
Just about packed myself, so one last pic of the mascots watching Oprah while lolling on my Herceptin blanket (which covers me every night!).
Tip Toe has new earrings for the conference. They are sterling silver hearts with amber cabachons. Hard to see here.
