				 Tablet/pill cutter
Hi everyone! I hope and pray that you're all doing well. Just want to recommend that you all (I didn't say y'all), if you haven't done so already, buy a tablet cutter/pill cutter. Some certain meds. like sleep aids, Ativan, certain pain meds may work just as well at a half-dose. With a tablet-cutter, you can fine tune the meds. a little more to your own needs. Love, Bill |

	 | Hi Bill,
Your post interests me. Not for me, per se, but for my dog, Murray. Murray has a skin disease and he has to take 3/4 of a pill twice per day. It's a royal pain in the "you know what" cutting this pill. Where do you find this "pill cutter?" Walgreen's or any drug store I'd imagine. Never heard of a pill cutter. Now I'm wondering if there is a special "hand" that can put this pill down my Murray's throat? My least favorite job of the day. When my husband can do it, it's HIS job. I'm a good wife, can't ya tell??? LOL LOL LOL!!

Geez, you can find any information on this site. Cool!!

	 | Hey Marejo! I found mine at the local pharmacy, but maybe you can find 'em anywhere. If you can't get one, let me know, I'll send you one. I can tell you are a good wife. If you need one of those long pill-holders to slip a pill down an animal's throat, they make those too. Love and prayers to you, Bill |

	 | Found mine @ CVS for the cats. 3/4 is going to be tricky. 1/2 then 1/2. May wind up w/ crumbs.
For myself, I find I have heartburn when I cut pills. I think maybe there is a buffer which surrounds the pill that you are compromising when you cut. BTW, my cat had heartburn too. Had to give him 1/4 Pepcid AC.

 Best wishes, BB

	 | I bought a good pill cutter at Walgreens - my dog has heart failure and I need it to split his pills - it works great, much easier than using a knife. |

	 | Yes, Believe is right, some pills should not be split. Your pharmacist will be able to tell you which ones are safe. Pill splitters are easily available and have a little area to catch the "crumbs" if you have some.
I've found dogs easy to medicate. I just put the pill in a bit of hamburger and toss it to them. But I had big greedy dogs. Cats are something else.
