Yippee! That ol' Navelbine in beating up on those rotten C cells! I'm so pleased for you! My experience of the mastectomy was so good. The surgery was good...tylenol one time and that's it. I had more feelings of how I looked in public than anything else. It stills feels goofy to be lopsided, but I just stay grateful to be alive. I have the "out in public" thing solved and don't plan to do reconstructive surgery anytime soon. But, I'm at that place in my life that this is more inconvenient than anything. I think that God blessed me with the task of rearing my granddaughter as a balance to BC. Allow yourself time to go through whatever comes up for you. Keep telling yourself when the feelings get overwhelming that "this is just temporary"....I will feel differently soon. You are a remarkable person and will find a way to deal with whatever comes up. Sept - Dec. '06 Navelbine/Herceptin x 8 (dose dense)
Radiation & Herceptin Jan. 22 - March 1, 2007
Finished Herceptin Dec. 10 '08! One extra year.
Port removed August, 2012.
8 1/2 years since diagnosis! 5 1/2 Years NED!
