Switched to arimidex Nov'06
ovaries removed June '07
ca15-3 in May'06 was 102
ca15-3 summer of '07 holding steady at 23!
ca15-3 slowly rising Dec & Jan 36, 38, 41 and Feb was 36
Feb '08 Liver, lung & Brain scan NED... bones are stable with even a couple spots gone. as compared with '06 scans
May '08 ca 15-3 is 55. Treatment is zometa, vinorelbine, herceptin and aromasin.
No signifcant changes.
Feb'09 Started Xeloda with herceptin..no more hormonals
Feb'09-June'09 tumor markers coming down again from 155 to 84
May'09 blood clots in lungs vena cava filter put in..Heparin shots daily for now.

I got the results from my MRI on Tuesday. I have no new lesions and the lesions I have are smaller. My dr. seemed thrilled, but I was a little disappointed. I was hoping that all of the lesions would be gone. Maybe next time. Thank you for asking.

Vanessa,
A wise person told me "when your doctor is happy, you should be happy". Of course, I still felt as you do - you just want it GONE! But this really is fantastic news and I'm so glad things are moving in the right direction! Smaller is good. Nothing new is good.

I know you are disappointed but look at the positive side -- there is no progression. I'm sure your next MRI will be clear.

Diagnosed stage 2b in July 2003 (2.3 cm, HER2+, ER-/PR-, 7+ nodes). Treated with mastectomy (with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction), AC + T/Herceptin (off label). Cancer advanced to lung in Jan. 2007 (1 cm nodule). Started Herceptin every 3 weeks. Lung wedge resection April 2007. Cancer recurred in lung April 2008. RFA of lung in August 2008. 2nd annual brain MRI in Oct. 2008 discovered 2.6 cm cystic tumor in left frontal lobe. Craniotomy Oct. 2008 (ER-/PR-/HER2-) followed by targeted radiation (IMRT). Coughing up blood Feb. 2009. Thoractomy July 2009 to cut out fungal ball of common soil fungus (aspergillus) that grew in the RFA cavity (most likely inhaled while gardening). No cancer, only fungus. Removal of tiny melanoma from upper left arm, plus sentinel lymph node biopsy in Feb. 2016. Guardant Health liquid biopsy in Feb. 2016 showed mutations in 4 subtypes of TP53. Repeat of Guardant Health biopsy in Jana. 2021 showed 3 TP53 mutations, BRCA1 mutation and CHEK2 mutation. Invitae genetic testing showed negative for all of these. Living with MBC since 2007. Stopped Herceptin Hylecta (injection) treatment in March 2020. Recent 2023 annual CT of chest, abdomen and pelvis and annual brain MRI showed NED. Praying for NED forever!!

I really appreciate everyone's concern, thoughts and prayers. I am feeling more positive that there is no progression. If I can ever catch an NED break, I am going to try an 80% (try is the operative term) raw food diet. Has anyone tried that yet?

No I haven't tried it Vanessa but it's funny you brought it up as I just read something pertaining to that. Something about the alkaline/acidic balance in our bodies. Eating 80 percent raw food and 20 percent of I'm not sure what.
