Wink Ma,

Thanks for your concerns MA,

Doc said he has read a recent article (which he gave me a copy of) about single agents being just as successful as combined chemo agents. So he suggested using Taxetere alone. We have told my doc that we are planning a trip to Mayo for 2nd opinion which my doctor happily set up for me. Until then, he wants to drop Tykerb & keep me on Xeloda and add Avastin. He ask me if I knew any thing about Avastin and I told him I knew it restricted new blood supply to tumors. He was quit impressed!!! I gave all the credit to this site and to all of its knowledgeable members. He was also impressed to hear that there was such a site for us Her2 neus. My appt (tentative) for Mayo is Jan 8th. They are reviewing my case and may bump up my appointment up sooner. So that is where we are now.
Myself as how I am doing, I am having pain in the bones & liver, not too severe, but taking a pain pill so I can get comfortable to sleep at night. I took my time to cry and now I am back on my feet ready to duke it out with this junk once more (thanks to the support from my warriors here on this site and abroad). Thank you all.
I will be posting a a question about Avastin. I hope those that have been on it can give me some feedback.

Love & hugs,

Michelle

Hi Michelle!
I'm so glad that you are getting a 2nd opinion and that your doc. is helping make it happen. I hope they fit you in really soon; so that your brain can focus on other things! I go to treatment with a friend who has had really good results from Avastin.
I know that you will get masterful advice and support from this gang of warriors! Keep believing. I'll add my prayers for your quick turn around with "working" drugs!

Hi Michelle,
You are in my prayers. I think about you. Thank you for the private message. I'm still on Herceptin/Navalbine combo weekly. My next scan is this month or next month I think :-(
It seems like your onc is a very caring person. My onc left in Sept. because she'll only be doing leukemia now.I was really sad when she told me she was leaving because I really like her and felt so comfortable with her. So my new onc which I have only been seen once since Sept. (i only see my NP which is really a nice person) does not seem to be caring and no bed side manner... :-(
Michelle, i hope this new drug combo will work. Good luck. I'm glad you're going for a second opinion. You'll be in good hands. God will send his healing hands through your onc.
I can't help to cry while typing this. It seems like I've known you for so long. I always read your post and our sisters here. I'm learning so much.
I'm taking oxycontin and oxycodone for my pain. It helps. I say.....thank goodness for pain meds!!!

Michelle,

Seems like you have an oncologist who is willing to work with you. Glad you got an appointment at Mayo and January is not that far away. I had Taxatere neoadjunctly and it really shrunk my tumor to almost nothing. I hope you have good results with the Taxatere.

Michelle -

It is good to see you are ready to "duke it out". You sure seem to be your own great advocate for what your going through. I so hope Mayo can get your appt. moved up sooner. The waiting is so darn tough.
A big hug to you tonight.
