WBR and Duration of Side Effects

Hello,

For those of you that have completed Whole Brain Radiation, could you please post regarding the types of side effects you've experienced and how long they have lasted?

I'm wondering what sorts of things appear to be long-lasting and what subsides after a few months. I'm specifically wondering about fatigue, sense of taste, sensitivity to smells, nausea, ringing in ears.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Regards,

Amy

Not too much history

Hi Amy,

I finished WBR very recently, so my experience is limited to this year only. I would also like to hear from people who have been a year or more out from WBR.

During the 15 rad treatment, I sailed through. The fatigue, nausea, and sensitivity to taste all started after ending a week or so. After 2.5 months, I'm still experiencing all of these lovely side affects. I must say my mind doesn't seem as sharp. Hopefully this will get better after my energy is back. What's been frustrating is one symptom will get better for a few days and I think 'yeah, I'm done with that one', then it rears it's ugly head again.

Tell your sis to hang in there. This too shall pass.
