need info please

Does anyone have information about short term disability. I know someone who is having lots of setbacks in her cancer journey. She is a teacher in Ohio, and keeps running into roadblocks and needs help.
Thanks

Insurance

Lolli,
Here is a link for a book I found most informative BREAST CANCER COVERED OR NOT http://www.pabreastcancer.org/insurance_book.html
It can be downloaded FREE and covers just about everything and provides links to different agencies. Hope this may help.

Lolli, Has she checked with her employer regarding short term disability? I know that before I went on disability I was first on short term disability from my employer then I went onto long term disability through my employer's health care provider. When I knew I would not be able to return to work I applied for social security disabiltiy. My disabiltiy was the year before I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I do know that you can apply for social security disability but there is a six month waiting period - meaning you haven't been able to work for at least that period of time.
