Kevin and Sue,

Soon the worst will be behind you...when I was on chemo by the 6th day
I would feel just fine and not take my nausea meds. Just remember to
continue to take the meds even when you feel fine. It sort of sneaks
up on you. I learned to take the meds around the clock to protect myself
from getting sick. About three days after treatment I would feel beat up
and just had to lay down. Just when you are fed up with feeling so bad
you start to perk back up.

Sending you all good wishes,
Jean

See if they can fine tune the meds for nausea. Many of us have done emend. I think my doc also gives Ativan as a premed for AC. I know they also have THC in pill form as I asked the nurse if I could smoke pot if I was nauseated. Never needed it. I can imagine how nausea would make you feel reluctant to go to the next infusion, so I would ask them to try different meds.

Best wishes, BB

Acupuncture

Someone else mentioned acupuncture with the shading of 'weirdo', and I know how she feels - but if this is easiyl available to you, I would really recommend it. I had acupuncture during chemo (never before or since) and drank bitter Chinese tea, and it really did help. I speak for myself and for two other California friends, I have no idea how this works, but it does. All three of us had a strikingly easy time with chemo, I swam every day, and although for a while oatmeal as almost the only thing i felt like eating, there were no serious nausea or gastrointestinal problems. This was epirubicin/taxotere - my Herceptin came separately later.
Good luck, I think it will get easier,
Tessa
