I have another take on this (all hypothethetical, of course)

the breast cancer gene profile by Affymetrix multigene array is remarkably similar to that of wound healing (which involves inflammation)

Of course the first step in wound healing is to stop bleeding

Perhaps this may be related to prostaglandins once again

Fortunately NSAIDs are both antiinflammatory and decrease platelet aggregation...so they may have several beneficial effects

There are many possible explanations. This is obviously an area in need of further research.
