My med onc ALWAYS gives them to me in person as we coordinate my abdominal scan (for liver mets) to take place on the day before the next visit. This works out ok since I go in every three weeks for my herceptin and zometa and have the scan during the clinic visit.
Then I see my doc the next morning when he has all the bloodwork and scan results, which is every 3 months now that I am NED. Plus, I like to see him grin from ear to ear as he gives me the good news ...
The only time I had a call was for my brain MRI this Jan. It was between scheduled visits and since the scan was negative he did not need to work me into to his VERY crowded schedule to discuss a treatment plan! WHEW!
