CT tomorrow
Hi dear sisters,
I know in my heart everything is okay but there is always that little doubt creeping in and won't let me be 100% positive. Several weeks ago I found out I have two fractured ribs on the right and left side. I finished radiation in May and had two bad colds in June and July.
The left fracture is in the radiated area and I am convinced it is a side effect of radiation. The right side I think is from a bad cough during the two colds. I had a chest x-ray in June that showed nothing. I had a bone scan in Sept that showed activity, but no cancer. Because of that, a set of rib x-rays were ordered and that did show the fractures. My onc has scheduled a CT for tomorrow to be sure it is not a reoccurence.
I know Sheila has mentioned she had a rib fracture. Is this common after radiation?
I may have gotten a little zealous with activities right after radiation also, that prevented things from healing. Building houses for Habitat for Humanity is our passion, plus I helped paint the exterior of our two story house, helped my daughter move and helped build a storage shed for our son and daughter in law in SD. I just wanted to get back to a normal life!
Your prayers would be appreciated. My test is 8 am and I have an appointment with my onc at 1 pm and Herceptin immediately following. Thanks!
Donna
