Message of love and peace?
I wanted to write all of you something that I just almost can't get my mind around. Several months ago my dad passed away very unexpectedly. We were very close and in fact my parents built their dream house right next door and moved in a little over a year ago. My dad was a retired Veterinarian and his favorite animal was birds. We always had lots of dogs and cats but he enjoyed birds the most and was very upset when our kitties would do bad things to birds. Well, about a month ago a white dove showed up at both of our houses. He would land on my roof and my parents. Sit around, turn his head to me when I spoke to him and basically lived here. My husband and I fed him regular dove food and I could actually get really close to him. So close that I saw that he had tags on his claws. My family just got back from vacation yesterday and my neighbor told me that black crows attacked him (I named him Mr. Darcy) while we were gone. They will do that if another bird is weakened. The UGA Vet school has him and he is going to be OK. His real name is Snowflake and he is lost from California. I live in GA. They can't believe that he made it all the way across the country from CA! I want to believe that my daddy sent him to us....I don't know. He is so beautiful and I was the only one who could get inches from him. He followed me around the yard. I have 3 kitties too (inside only) but I am definitely going to see if I can keep him if the owners in CA don't want him back or pay for the Vet bills. My Dad also worked for the Vet school and taught some pathology classes. What do you all think? Have I lost my mind?
Hugs ~ Ruth
