Hi - I posted this first in response to Rhonda's query thread, but decided to give the post its own topic so it would not be missed by anyone wondering about Linda.

Hello All -
I have been in touch with Al today and he asked me to answer your concerns.
He has spent over a week at the hospital with Linda and is away from his computer for all intents and purposes. He sleeps in her room and you know how hard it is to sleep well when the staff comes in constantly for one reason or another. (I can say after just having had that experience for only 2 nights.)

Linda is being given what will keep her comfortable, and she knows Al and the family.
Al has been in touch with researchers at Dana Farber regarding Tykerb. Problem is that now Linda cannot swallow and this drug is in pill form.

Al will be back with any important news. In the meantime keep up the prayers for Linda's comfort and healing.

I can't answer your question about Linda with any detail - I only know that she has progression of her brain mets.
Al said that her liver counts had been good since she got back on the Xeloda.

Wish I had more info, but it is sketchy.

This is great of you to do this for all of us. If one person can check and keep us posted it certainly is a great help to Al with everything he is going through now.

I will keep checking on any other messages with further news.
