HI, I'm new here (triple positive). I ended treatment , Herceptin, last month and am on Arimidex. The pain in unbearable at times. Does anyone have any info as to what / where treatment is going with triple positive bc? I'm wrestling with whether to keep my port in for the next 2 years as my dr suggests. He said we have a 20% chance of reccurence. That seems low to need to keep my port in for that much time. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about triple positive so if anyone knows where I can get more plz let me know. thanks

Hello, Hadit and welcome.

I am not triple positive but I am on Airmidex too. When I first started on it, the joint pain was terrible, just terrible. My MO had me go off it for a few weeks and restart it. It was much more tolerable on the restart. I have no idea why this worked but it's worth asking if you can try.

I rushed to get my port out, I hated it. I regretted it but it was easy enough to put back in a little over a year later. If you don't hate it, wait a bit but if you do, it's easy enough to install a new one if you should have.

thanks, Are you being treated as "triple negative"?. I see your dx and know someone else who has the same and that's how they're being treated. I will try doing the "off Arimidex" for a while and see if that helps.

I am ER- PR+ (50%) and HER2+++ and since PR+ in absence of ER+ has unknown clinical significance, they treat me as though I am a triple positive patient, thus the Arimidex.

how long did you go off Arimidex before going back on?

My sister also has breast cancer but not the triple negative one. She is undergoing treatment in New York. The oncologist there are very helpful and supportive in case of treatment.
