Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says there will be no vote on healthcare reform before Congress takes its August break, a move that would go against President Obama's announced timetable for its vote.

Hope I'm not breaking the "no politics" rule, but hey, "NEWS" just posted it so maybe it's fair game:)

Frankly, I hope this is true. Although I infrequently agree with Harry Reid, (in fact I scared myself when I just wrote the almost identical thing!) his comment says it all:

"I think that it's better to have a product that is one that's based on quality and thoughtfulness rather than trying to jam something through."

Another group was quoted in the article as saying "inaction this year would have dire ramifications on millions of Americans". As would many of the actions now under consideration.

Reform is important and needed; but intelligent reform deserves to be openly debated in the light of day.

Feel free to delete this post if I've stepped over the line or incite a war!
