Hi my Friends! I need you.
I did not post much lately because I am discouraged. And I was ashamed to post pain problems when others were fighting a stage IV.
I have severe neuropathy in my arm since the mastectomy for which I take Neurontin. One year after surgery now and no improvement. I am surprised why nobody ever mentions this terrible "side effect" as a risk and there are no Doctors working to prevent it.
But on top of that I have horrible pain in the upper part of my back since the end of the chemo+surgery+radiation. That was last April. I take Morphine to be able to stand it.
The Doctors made me stop Aromasine and Tykerb for a month to see what is coming from the treatment and what may be damage from the initial treatment. Of course I had an MRI of my spine and it is fine.
It has been 2 weeks now and the only improvements are the joint pains and more energy.
I am very very worried. I was hoping the pain was coming from my treatment.
Did you ever hear about nerve or muscle damage after Chemo/ Radiation that could cause such damage as the doctors seem to think?
Any articles on that?
Thank you for your help. I am very down.
Michka

Michka,
I have no words of wisdom. Just wanted to post and let you know I am sorry you are going through this. I hope someone on the site will be able to give you some much needed information.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
