In this 2006 patient case story, the reasons for the strong reluctance of oncs to prescribe unapproved combinations of chemo drugs is well explained & the rare permission to take on such a (successful) combo chosen by the patient after some research on toxicities is detailed : Xeloda, and Herceptin plus Avastin.
