I need help from you experts.

I understand that liver enzymes can fluctuate during taxol treatments.

Can you tell visibly in your body when this occurs? Or in how you feel?

Does anyone know how to maintain a proper level through nutrition or supplements?

What is the proper level for liver enzymes? I'm sorry for being so ignorant here!

thank you all

Dear MCS,

Sorry no one has replied to your post, I guess most of us are Christmas shopping..
Anything metabolized by the liver has the potential to elevate liver enzimes. The most common elevated enzimes by a drug like taxol are Alk Phos and AST. AST is usually elevated when there is chronic assualt. The most specific to liver amage is probably Gamma GT but the real trick, and this is where the doctor comes in, is to read these results in combination and interaction with eachother. many of these enzimes are also effected by muscle injury, heart attacks, bone mets, last night's party. They may also be elecated when combining something like grapefruit with the drug as it could increase drug concentrations dramatically. If you are on neupogen support, you may have increased alk phos levels.
Take care,
Al
