Thanks Joe
You are so kind. I looked at this one but you are excluded if you have current or past Herceptin use. I am hoping thye will have ones soon that don't have this exclusion. Thanks again

Since we are on the subject, does anyone know if there are vaccine trials scheduled for anywhere in Europe yet ?

I've been trawling around some of the sites but haven't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance

Cara

Cara,
This same trial is being held in several European countries.

Hi Cara,

HER2 vaccine trials in Europe I know of:

Pharmexa:
Phase II: Poland, Hungary (just started. Articles posted in articles section).
Phase II (second type of vaccine): Germany, Italy (planned, but seems to have been planned for a while).

Glaxo Smith Kline:
Phase I: Italy, France, Belgium, see http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct/show/NCT00058526?order=1 for details

Where are you?

Take care,
Christine

Hi Christine

I'm in France.

I assume you are the same Christine MH that posts on BCC.
I post as Karma there.

I have just had a look at that link and I suit all the criteria EXCEPT I have had and am still having Herceptin.

But I think I will ring the French number anyhow and see if they are planning to do one of the vaccine trials for people who have had Herceptin.

In any case, I would prefer to wait a while before attempting something new.
I'm still not sure whether I will be continuing with the Herceptin after May and there is some merit in the old maxim "leave well enough alone" if it continues to work for me.

I would just like to have the information about vaccines available just in case.

Thanks again for all your help.

BTW, my husband has family in Yorkshire (near Keithley) so we visit there now and again. It's a beautiful part of the country.

Cheers

C.

Dear Cara,

Yes, I use the same name for BCC.

I live quite near Keighley, just over the moor near Ilkley.

I have been keeping my eyes out for a vaccine trial in Britain, but nothing so far. The articles I post on this website are usually what I find when I am looking for a trial.
