Bone Scan question?

In a bone scan is the whole body scanned or only an area of interest?

For cancer patients the scan is almost always whole body. If it is for something like runner's stress fracture then they only scan the legs.

Henny & Vickie-

When my doctor told me that he is going to order a bone scan, I assumed it would be the whole body but didn't think to ask. It's been raining cats & dogs here in the northeast so in the last day or 2 I have had more aches and pains. Last night I was getting pretty anxious and didn't want to wait till the morning, so I thought to post my question in this wonderful forum.

A few minutes ago, I called the radiology dept and they gave me the same info that the both of you gave me last night.

Thank you for responding so quickly, last night you set my mind at ease so I was able to sleep better because of your prompt input.

Sending (((hugs))) your way,
Liz
