my story

Hello All,
I am Kathy from SC. I was just recently diagnosed with Breast cancer that has spread to my lungs.
I just hasd my second week of chemo, which is herceptin and taxofere.
This is avery scarey time for me and in chem yesterday, I noticed all the faces are the same. We all need all the positive we can get. It is a very lonely disease but it was a beautiful sunny day yesterday for it and even thoug it will disrupt my sleep patern and make me sick, those are still mild. My dr. and healthcare team can be trusted, but this all the rush to aggessively treat this with 2 surgeries brought on depression and I forgot my job.
Would love to hear from others on here,
kathy

Hi Kathy

I know what you are trying to say. I just had my second AC dose yesterday and am sick and yucky. It does not matter how many times I say to myself that I must do this to kill it. I must give this year to the chemicals and scans and sticks so that I will have many more. But on mornings like this I just don't care.
Of course tomorrow I will feel different and try to go to work. It makes me feel like I still have some life outside of this cancer. I guess the important thing to remember is to keep moving forward one day at a time, one treatment at a time and one lovely side effect after another, at a time. Good luck to you and hang in there as we all must. Kriss

Kathy,

You are not alone. Be thankful that you have a team of doctors that you trust and that are treating you aggressively. With the Herceptin/Taxatere combo you should have good results. The women on this board have a wealth of knowledge and are the most supportive group of women I have found.

Yes, chemo is no fun....but it is a mighty weapon in the fight! I did A/C and was very sick all through it...days I thought would never end...but now it is behind me. The women, and men, on this board are a wonderful support!

Dear Kathy,

I am sorry that you were dx. with bc. But - you have the best place to
ask questions and touch ideas, thoughts with others. The woman on this
site are supporitive, knowledgable and so very kind.

Think of the positive sides to the chemo treatments. (yes - there are positive sides)! Keep thinking how the chemo will destroy all those nasty cells.

Wishing you the best.
Jean
