Oh good,
now my first oncologist would probably allow me to have it. Oh, wait, now I am too far out of diagnosis for him to prescribe it.
Thank heavens for this site and that I knew about Herceptin and went out found a different oncologist and finished my one year of it last July! Yeah!

Amen to that Janet. If it had not been for this site I wouldn't have known a thing about Herceptin. I was dx 3/4/05, began chemo 4/1/05 and was due to start my Taxol right when the news broke about the trials. Because of this site I insisted on Herceptin starting with my Taxol. At first I was told no. A week later, after I signed financial responsibility if my insurance wouldn' cover it (which they did, every penny) I was told yes. I started right on schedule with my Taxol and the subsequent year. Thank you Joe and Christine for being so far ahead for us! You are saving lives.
