Same here, I never gave mets a second thought! That is so true... I just knew in my heart that they cut it out, did the chemo and rads, end of story. When I was dx 7 yrs later as stage IV w/mets to liver and lungs, it was like a slap in the face. But, it was a wake up slap to get educated and be more vigilant about my tests, scans and general well being.
I'm glad I didn't spend those 7 years living with the fear of recurrence. Life is too short and I'm glad that I had that time of ignorant bliss, wish I had it again...
