permanent wave while on xeloda?

Have any of you had your hair permed or color treated while on xeloda? I had my hair highlighted 2 months ago while I was on a chemo break. I now have about 1 1/2 inches of grey regrowth. If I get a perm it won't be as noticable. It will also be easier to maintain in this hot weather we are getting. I'd rather not lose my hair again because of my own ignorance and vanity so if anyone has some tips let me know. Thanks.

Love and blessings from Lu Ann

I have colored mine while on Xeloda with no ill effects....but I used a temporary color. I even asked my Dr yesterday about a pedicure while on it as there is a higher risk of infections. She said as long as my counts were good and they are perfect right now, and I go to a reputable place, she had no problem with it.

I got a perm while on xeloda and other chemo's. I did have to sign a release not holding them responsable if my hair fell out. I never had any problem with it. Some chemo's made my hair thinner and I felt I needed the perm. I think I am more vain now then I ever was before the cancer. I think after they removed my breast and took my hair I have felt the need to do everything to feel feminin again. I used to very seldom wear my ear rings but when my hair started growing back and was real short I started wearing hoop ear rings and now I don't even go for a walk with out ear rings. I had a second hole put in a couple of weeks ago and this isn't the type of things I normally did. I also always work hard to look healthy. I'm not sure why but it seems to be an obsession with me since the cancer. Patty H
