Is this True?

I met with my surgeon yesterday. During our visit she mentioned that her2+ cancer tends to prefer solid organs such as liver and lungs as oppossed to bones. Is that true?

Becky, can you point me to where you got that info?
I've not read that her2+ has a "preference" in sites to metastasize to.
Thanks.

Becky,
Thanks for info, I did not realize that HER2 made a difference as to first choice for mets. I thought all BC had a tendency toward bones first. KS

The information is on this site somewhere. StephN posted it after she returned from going to San Antonio with the group in Dec 2005 or 2004. There was a poster on it. For Her2+ BC, the first site for mets is the lung 21% of the time.

Bones are the first site for highly ER+/PR+ bc and are third on the list. The reason the group advocates brain MRI is that for Her2+, the first site of mets 10% of the time is the brain. The liver is #2. Anyway, it is a StephN post with a link - older post. I am going to Detroit tomorrow for work but when I return, I will try to really look for that post for you.

I could not find the post from Stephn that relates to this issue. If someone could bring it back up I would be interested in reading it.
Thanks, Alice

I searched but didn't find it either. I don't know what search keywords that I need to use, other than "mets" and it brings up too many hits.
