Talking CyberKnife Completed

First, I want to thank everyone for their prayers and support as I went through this procedure.

The CyberKnife procedure was a walk in the park. It took approximately one hour and my daughter took me. I had/have no pain and no other side effects. I even got pictures of my brain showing the nasty met and the beams of radiation that zapped it. Readiation oncologist feels it was a complete success. I will be scanned in about 3 months just to check things out. The procedue was not uncomfortable at all and I actually dozed off while laying there -- that could have been from the Ativan I took to calm my anxiety. I'm now better than new!

Thank you so much for your concern, prayers and support. You have no idea how much it means to me.

Smile Great News

I am very happy that the procedure has been done
and it was physically an "easy" one. I, too, am amazed
at the technology -- to think they can zap something
in your body and you didn't feel a thing. Amazing! I
am happy for you that it went so well.

Kate, welcome to the CyberKnife "club"!

So glad your experience was so easy. I forgot that I'd drifted off from the Ativan, too. Loved that part!

With such a small brain met to begin with, that Mri in three months should show NOTHING in that spot anymore!

Still here (knock wood) five yrs and 24 brain mets later,
very best wishes to you,
with hugs,
pattyz

A Walk In The Park??????

WOW. Talk about the "JOY COLUMN". To think that not too many years ago brain mets would have been an automatic death sentence. Now you can walk in, walk out and in all likelihood not hear from THOSE particular nasties again.

I'm so glad this went well for you...and that your diligence enabled these to be found while so treatable.

You're amazing, amazon woman!

Kate, I'm so glad to hear that having CyberKnife was much easier then expected. Thats pretty good that you actually nodded off while they blasted that little met into dust! I'm glad you now have this behind you...may NED be here to stay. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers aways.
