So encouraging to hear....

I called a few places yesterday concerning a problem I have. I got one women on the phone that answered and we got to talking. She went on to tell me that she is a stage IV survivor since 1990. (Wow.) I know there out there...but its always exciting to actually talk to the person as most of you know.

She had liver cancer and was treated with CMF I believe it was. Then two years later had breast cancer and had a double mastectomy and was treated with FU5 or something like that? (sorry...I don't know all the abreviated chemo regimens?) She said she was on chemo for almost a total of two years but has remained cancer free since 1992. :-) She said all she has been on since then is Tamoxifen, and now all she is on Amidrex. She said her quality of has been good. She sounded GREAT.

I just thought I would share that. We know there are so many survivors out there...but its sure nice to hear from them.

I hope that talking to a long time cancer survivor has lifted your spirits. It's a terrible disease and the treatment can last a long time.
