I've had zometa for years. I usually get it once a month or once every 6 weeks to fight my other infusion time schedule. I think 1x month is the standard. Sometime I think I feel slightly achy in bones the day/night after the tx, but slight. Other than that I've had no side effects. I hope it is easy for you too. You've had a lot these last weeks and I hope all is going better now.

I've been on Zometa for almost 5 years. I now get it once a quarter. Pam summed up the side effects nicely, but I wanted to add one. When I got my first infusion, I got a fever as well. I know 2 other women who also got a fever with the first infusion...not much you can do to prevent it but thought I would let you know of the possibility. Good luck. It is very tolerable.

I mirror Colleen's experience. My first infusion I felt like I had the flu. All achy and a fever - on the high side (102) for a day, then I was fine. All other infusions, I really had no side effects - just felt a tad off the next day. Expect to feel flu like symptoms after the first one.

Hi
I have had only one zometa infusion last March. I experienced flue like symptoms for 2.5 days. I was VERY achey all over and was confined to the couch. My bones really ached and i was in a lot of pain. I have heard from others that they too experienced this after their first infusion. I hear that it does get better after each infusion.
