It was my understanding that being PTEN positive would possibly mean getting more benefit from herceptin. Can someone clarify this statement made recently at San Antonio?:
Dissecting HER2 Signaling Pathways: What does this mean to patients with breast cancer? (7:00 A.M.)

The last speaker, Rene Bernards, PhD, from the Netherlands Cancer Institute, reviewed his laboratory's efforts to search for genes that cause resistance to Herceptin. He uses sophisticated techniques to screen genes one by one to see which genes, when deleted or added, cause resistance.

One gene that emerged from the screen was PTEN, a gene already known to be linked to Herceptin resistance.

herceptin is unlikely to work, as I understand it

They are finding out more and more about PTEN and its level seems to be required/participate in BRCA positive breast cancer as well.
