Hi to all. Happy New Year and ppeace and well being to all of you.

I have been out of touch here and found a lot of you who " I know" through here. Rhonda, Stephanie, Sheila, Irene, Sandy touscled, and so on and on

I had a prophilactic mastectomy at the beginning of december and with the holidays I have not checked in. Hope to do more frequent now.

I also received my last treatment of herceptin last week and I'm so scared of being alone without my security blankie of herceptin. I was wondering how the other ladies that are off the one year plan are now doing. I'll take a look at the posts.

this mastectomy feels different that my first. there's a little tendon under the arm which is bothering me but docs said to massage, so I'm doing that. have anyone of you had this? but you know the nodes were clean so forget the rest, right?

I honestly have missed you.

XOXO

and glad the mastectomy went well. I've been off since 8/06 and am doing fine as you will also. I hope the holidays were well for you and the new year will be GREAT for all of us. Take care and God bless.

Finished in November. Nails and nose still crappy. Mentally I'm OK with being off. Keeping a watch out for the next new thing. BB

Maria,

Glad to see you're doing well. When I had my bilateral mastectomy (MRM on right side and simple on left) I had tightness in the tendon under the arm -- still do as a matter of fact. Your doctor is right. Massage does help.

hi Maria - I had my last Herceptin in Nov 06. Had first mastectomy to left side 6/05 and 2nd to right on 2/06. I had that little tendon that was strange - kind of loose if I had to describe it. It did just go away. The 2nd mastectomy was different. For me it was more painful in recovery-nerve pain mostly. But not bad really. I am healed up fine now. Your right though, loosing the herceptin is like loosing a security blanket and emotionally has been one of the hardest things for me to take. I just feel like there is more they can do. I did more by talking to the psychosocial therapist at the breast center. He has been really good for me. Hope this is a great year for you! kim

I finished in July and more than being concerned about not taking any drugs except Arimidex I most sorely miss my visits with the oncology nirses. I make it a point to see them every time I am there for an appt with my oncologists. That feels as good as getting a drug- maybe better.
I hope things go well for you.

Maria,
Welcome back! We missed you too...now don't be a stranger! The tendon thing seems to be common and will likely clear up on its own. Good luck girlfriend!

Glad your surgery went well.
I also finished herceptin Nov '06 and understand how you feel.
I'm doing fine so far but worry about any little ache or pain now and just hope in time it gets easier.
The biggest problem I have is knowing all these treatments leave us with little side effects and aches but not running to the Dr every time thinking I have a recurrance.
Good luck and a healthy new year to us all
