Markers are rising

My Her2 serum test since three months has been rising. It started from 7.5 three months ago and has been increasing to 10.1, 13.5 and this month is still pending.(I have been doing this since 2 years and never was over 9) My other markers didn't increase till last month except they raised this month , CEA from 1.1 to 2.3 and CA27.29 from 7.7 to 12.2. CA15-3 remained stable around 5.5. I am really very worried and am going to have CT/PET fusion on Monday. I just came off 2 year adjuvant Herceptin 2 months ago. I am really very tense and worried. Please help me go through this.

Thanks,
Julie

Julie,

You are in my prayers that all is well and that your scans come up clear. I am sure that this is a very scary time for you and know that the waiting is just awful. Please try to hang in there and think positively. I will be thinking of you this weekend.

Love, Kelly

The waiting to find out is torture. Sending positive thoughts your way and hoping that the marker is elevated for a B9 reason.

Julie,

Please don't fret. Markers go up and down all the time and for many reasons, including the fact that you're off herceptin, which may have brought your normal readings down and they are now rising to their normal again. Remember all your markers are still within normal range. And try not to use other people's experiences as indicative of your own. We are all different and our markers are different. Mine have always been elevated (from day one, with my 5mm cancer) and I've had all the scans: MRI, PET, CT, echos to within an inch of my life with nothing to show for it.

I hope your tests go well and you can relax again.

My markers go all over all the place. Up and down and always in the normal range like yours. It is probably nothing at all.
