Question
Hi there,
My onc took me off of Tamoxifen in November when my PET Scan show some liver mets. He put me on weekly Herceptin only at that time. In February another scan showed that the mets were not improving so he started me back on Taxol along with the Herceptin. I went to my radiologist yesterday for some followup and he questioned why I wasn't on some sort of Horomone blocker since I was so ER positive. He was going to call my oncologist and talk to him about why. He then proceeded to tell me that he thought it would be a good idea to "get rid of my ovaries" since I wasn't planning on having any more children. (he is very to the point - one of the things I love about him) He then said he wanted to have my estrogen levels checked (and I should be prepared to bleed - again to the point!). My question is has anyone else been taken off Tamoxifen and put on something else or nothing at all? I just want to be sure I am doing the best possible to get rid of this stuff!
