Thanks for sharing, Elaine. Another great cancer-zapper is turmeric.

Re: 5 Foods That Starve Cancer

Hi, Pibikay: You mentioned that artichokes are not available there. Are you able to get milk thistle capsules? The reason I ask is that artichokes contain something called silymarin, which protects the liver. However, milk thistle capsules protect the liver as well. It is important to have a clean/well functioning liver to the best of your ability in order to rid the body of toxins and fight infections.

Wink Re: 5 Foods That Starve Cancer

Milk thistle is one of my favorite things. I have been taking it almost since day 1 of my diagnosis. I never had liver mets. I never had elevated liver enzymes. I also eat alot of veggies that help the liver. (green vegetables like bok choy, kale, collard greens, and red beets etc).

Re: 5 Foods That Starve Cancer

Hi, Grantes:
Can you clarify what it is about flounder that you like for prevention? Is it something specific to flounder, or are you talking about fish oil in general? Thanks.

Re: 5 Foods That Starve Cancer

Just a note about strawberries. There are on the "dirty dozen" list of high pesticides. Best to try to find them organic.
