Bill's 1000th Post Haiku Contest
Friends:
AS many of you know, Bill has recently made his 1000th post. As an honor to Bill's selfless devotion and his dedication to this forum and to his wife, Nicola, I would ask all of Bill's friends or anyone who Bill has helped to post a Haiku or short poem to honor Bill.
(A Haiku is a Japanese poem that has three lines, the first line has five syllables, the second line has seven syllables, and the third line has five syllables.)
Thanks Bill.

Oh Lee, I just re-read your thread. This is a contest??? So it is to be an original?
Oh well.... you can void mine out then I guess.....
Maybe I will try again later.

I don't think this should be a contest, how about more of a tribute. I suggested the Haiku form because sometimes having some structure really helps creativity.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
And so are you.
I just made this up ... I swear.

My Haiku
Nicola and Bill
Symbiotic mates for life
Apart, but nearby.
What a great love and admiration the two of you had for each other. Very refreshing.

Try this Tanka
a Japanese poem with 31 syllables in 5 lines, with 5 syllables in the 1st and 3rd lines, and 7 syllables in the others.
Here's mine:
Bill and Nicola
Sharing life as man and wife
Loving so deeply
Some people never have this
They did -- for eternity!

Didn't mean to intrude on your haiku thread, the tanka suggestion was for PinkGirl since she has such a gift with this!

Vi, tanks for the new format
Roses are red-ish
Some vi-o-lets are blue-ish
Sugar is sweet-ish
Bill's cupcakes kind of small-ish
But still better than spray cheese.
