Smile ~Mighty Oaks Petscan Saturday~Prayer Requests

This Saturday Ed will be going for another petscan to check his progress with this new combo of A/C he has been on for 4 months. His tumor markers keep declining steadily towards normal and just a reminder that he is a very tumor marker sensitive person. Tomorrow will mark his 7th treatment of chemo w/5 left if he can tolerate it and boy is he getting tired (almost 18 mths of straight treatment).

This is a scary time for us because last time he was almost there before and the cancer grabbed the upper hand. I am very scared about this part of the journey. Hearing good news will be the other half of the miracle we been searching and begging for. I am afraid that with having Inflammatory BC and all this treatment that the cancer will remain with that upper hand!

I am also concerned with the fact that Ed failed on Herceptin AND Tykerb, how will we manage his Inflammatory BC after?? Guess I am just ranting, neither here nor there. Just scared is all!

And without sounding negative just facing our realities, he may never get better. As much as this hurts to think and say it is reality. He is having a real tough time getting well.

Wish us luck friends because we are not giving up. We are still demanding our miracle. And we are here to say "Watch out cancer because as PinkGirl said....The Mighty Oak is yesterday's nut that stood its ground!!"

Hugs to you both

Hi Marie and Ed,

You betcha I will be praying. I said a prayer before I typed this response and will continue to ask the Lord for Ed's healing to continue.

Of course you aren't being negative Marie. Being a realist, as you say, is not being negative. "Negative" no way describes our Marie. You just are pouring out your innermost feelings to us and I for one am happy you did. You need to be honest with yourself and your feelings also.

I ask our Lord for Ed's Petscan to be positive. No progession - no cancer. I know Ed must be so tired. I ask our Lord to CONTINUE to give him the strength he needs to continue with treatment. God has been faithful thus far and I'm counting on it to continue. And for you Marie, I ask the Lord to hold you close and give you His peace as you continue to be the wonderful caregiver, prayer warrior for us here and the loving friend you are to all.

Hugs to you both....

Mary Jo

I was out walking in our beautiful Wisconsin weather and offered up a prayer for Ed and you. Praying for a perfect scan. Praying, praying, praying and knowing our God knows our hearts and knows what's best.

Hope chemo went well.

Love,

Mary Jo

P.S. Marie, your new avatar looks like Fall leaves to me and kind of has me in a funk - I keep thinking winter is returning soon when I see it. Couldn't we see some beautiful babe in a bikini or something?
