Her2+++ and 3 different types of cancer in both breasts

My 44 year old sister-in-law has been diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer. Her BC team informed her today that she has 3 different types of breast cancer. These tumors are very small and the treatment plan includes, bilateral mast, chemo, and rads. She will have reconstruction later. The nodes will be tested when she has surgery. The way that the other tumors were found was through a PEM. They were so tiny they did not show up on her mammogram.
Who out there has experience with 3 different types of BC occurring simultaneously? I wish I had more details but we are getting the news piecemeal as this is hard for my brother and his wife to deal with which we can all understand.
Thanks ladies.

Do you mean that different pathology shows up in the tumors, for instance: one is HER2+ ER+, one is HER2 + ER-, and one is triple negative? It is not unheard of for different tumors to have slightly different pathologies...

Or is one DCIS and another is Lobular?

It would be interesting to know what they mean by 3 different kinds of b/c.

I think there are 3 different types of bc...maybe IDC, LIC and some DCIS.... The path report did show that my sister-in-law is Her2+++ but I don't know if that factor is present for each of the tumors. I don't know if my brother is able to talk about it but as I get more info I will share with you all. Keep them in your prayers.

I had an invasive ductual carcinoma on the right. 1.9 cm and ER+ 50% PR negative and Her2+. On the left, I had a 3mm dcis ER+50% and PR+ 30%. It is possible for lightening to strike simulataneously yet with different effects.

Hello!

I don't quite fit your question ... but close. I had IDC and DCIS simultaneously and am Her2+. Was diagnosed in May 2006. I had a dbl mastectomy and did AC chemo DD x 4. I plan on no reconstruction. I was also in the TEACH trial for 9 months with Tykerb. Also on Arimidex.

My prayers and best wishes for your sister-in-law!
