I saw a recent article posted somewhere (cannot recall where, perhaps here?) that said surgeons are now testing Vit D levels in their back surgery patients prior to surgery. If their levels are low, supplementation is begun to build their levels before having the surgery. Those who have levels within an acceptable range heal faster. I wonder if beefing up your Vit D intake might help that femur heal better and faster?
