It could be a number of things Gerri .... they might know that Lee etc.
is never going to part with that bunny bowl or they're afraid they'll
have to give Lee etc. their mailing address or they know that you
and I are quiz answering fools and the competition is just too tough.

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

Pink Girl and Geri got everything they tried to answer correct, except for no. 15. Mr. and Mrs. Malph is the kind of answer I would give, so therefore it is unacceptable. Pink Girl is going to have to be punished. Not only are you not going to receive a bunny bowl, you aren't even going to get the bunny bowl I already owe you. I know its harsh, but without rules we are going to descend into the depths of anarchy and that isn't going to happen on my watch!

I think other people aren't jumping in because they are intimidated by the awesomeness of the quizmaster and our two quiz answering fools. They are afraid of using too much awesome up and creating a shortage. We all know we can always import more awesome from Canada because they don't use much of it and they got plenty to spare.

If that doesn't create a stampede of people trying to answer quiz questions, I don't know what will.

Lee etc., I'm not sure you'd want to import any Canadian awesome.
The awesome up here is different ... kind of like our flour and I'm not sure

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

True enough Pink Girl. Old Canadian awesome came in Imperial gallons. New Canadian awesome is, of course metric. Fortunately I have a conversion kit in my tool shed. Unless the kids borrowed it and left in the yard.

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

The final two answers:

21. Henry Winkler, Tom Bosley and Marion Ross appeared in all episodes.

22. Yes, Richie was in the final episode.

Oh Most Awesome Quizmaster, that completes the quiz. In lieu of the ever elusive bunny bowl, and since PinkGirl is obsessed with the Winter Olympics, I think it is only fitting that we be awarded medals. Not sure I can make it to the podium on such short notice (plus I am allergic to snow - it makes me feel cold!) so I will take my medal via the internet. PinkGirl lives in Canada so she could probably cross country ski her way there, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't trust you...something to do with your photo on 'Wanted' posters plastered all over Canada....

Wink Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

I'm sure that snow allergy is common in California. Did you not tell me once
that you keep your snow in the mountains, where it belongs?

I would like my medal via a third party. Maybe Lee etc. could give them
to his gramma in Nelson, BC ... I have family there.

Becky told us once that she knows all about metric conversion. Wonder
if she knows how to convert awesome.

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

That's right Pink, at least in Southern California we keep the snow up on the mountains where it belongs.

As for a third party passing your medal on to you, don't you know everyone in Canada? It should be pretty easy for Lee, etc. to leave it on the other side of the border with your name on it. That way your family members don't have to worry about visiting granny in prison and possibly running into One-Eyed Jack...

After spending a few years on this board, I'm pretty sure Becky can do anything....awesome conversion would be a piece of cake!

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

Two very good points GerriGirl

If Lee puts two medals in a plain brown envelope and tosses it over
the border, it will find its way to me ... then I'll mail yours to snow-less
California.

I'm sure Becky can convert awesome from litres to imperial gallons and
US gallons ... piece of cake for that girl.

Thanks for the quiz Lee etc.

8. The tallest mountain is Denali in Alaska. It used to be called Mt. McKinley before historians let everyone know that President McKinley was obese and smelled bad.

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

4. This is truly a tricky question. Waterfall enthusiast are split into two camps on the height of a waterfall. The first camp, who for the sake of convenience, will be called the Right camp feel the water has to fall continuously downward and not pool up and not have several leaps. They correctly believe Snow Creek Falls in California is the tallest in North America at 2,140 feet, which in the metric system converts to 68 hectaliters.

The second camp, who for the sake of brevity, will be called those wrong headed bastards, believe a waterfall can pool up and have several leaps. They stubbornly hold to the shortsighted dogma that the tallest waterfall is Yosemite Falls which plunges 2,424 feet which converts to $62.15 using the metric system.

Those are both correct Lee etc. I didn't know about the controversy
regarding the two waterfalls ... I was looking for Yosemite. How many
litres are in a hectalitre??? Wonder if Becky knows that one ...

A measure of liquids, containing a hundred liters; equal to a tenth of a cubic meter, nearly 26½ gallons of wine measure, or 22.0097 imperial. [Wikipedia]

[Sorry to butt in. Just didn't know when Becky will get to see the message. And I'm sure she wouldn't mind I looked up the answer for her. ]

Re: Lee's BIG BIG BIG Quiz Thread

No 7 is also a tricky question. There are two ways to measure the height of a lighthouse. The first method, often called the Wrong Way is to measure the height of the focal plane above the horizon. That would make Point Loma Light near San Diego California the tallest at 462 feet.

The correct way to measure the height of a lighthouse is to just measure the damn thing, and that would make Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina the tallest at 198 feet.
