The speaker of the HERA lecture said that er,pr+ relapses later than er,pr-so I think that it makes sense that the more nodes involved, the more likely a relapse with er, pr+ because multimple node involvement signifies the disease has been there for some time.

distant sites

The problem seems that assessing the status, either HER2, E or P, seems to by the one treatment limiting factor. When asked at SABCS, Dr. Sleaman stated that when ever a biopsy of distant metastatic sites is done, either by fine needle aspiration or core needle biopsie (the most common) there is always the posibility of spread, however remote. I must wonder if the Bayer test, or a variation of it, for serum HER2 cells might be a future way of assessing the change in HER2 status. I may e-mail Bayer for feed-back, as a possible future direct. I think that this is a HUGH issue given the fact that a very large percentage of stage 4'ers may be under-treated.

HI Robin,

Where I can find the 2005 SABC live webcast with Dr. D. Slamon, discussing the trail results of BCIRG , Do you have a link because I can't find it on the site--or maybe I'm going to the wrong site.

Thanks for the help,

VIVIANE
