I second the junk food. I wonder what happens when you warm spray cheese on the fire? Everyone who isn't real brave or real stupid (sometimes there is a thin line between the two) better back away.

That's okay Marie. I will make us a nice omlet over the fire.I like mine with fresh veggies and rice. I will add a slice of cheese once in awhile. If you would like some potatoes please bring some.
What kind of fish do you get in that lake Bill?

Yum. Those crepes and berries are delicious. I could go for a coffee shake or smoothie. Sounds terrific. I think I will try to make one.
I will bring one of my smoothies next time. I make all kinds of fruit smoothies and mixed veggie juices.

Thanks for the recipe Bill. I am definitely gonna give it a try. I need some relaxing vibes today. It is proving to be a very stressful week. I can feel the tension and headache mounting. I think I will bring a hammock and just chill by the fire the rest of the week. Wake me when it's over.

Glad you liked my bread pudding. Are the Chinese dumplings called sui mai or won ton?
I love won ton. Every NY eve for our party, my daughter and I made won ton and with all the extra won ton wrappers, we fry them up and then sprinkle with either salt or powder sugar. This is our own homemade version of won ton chips!

Very smart, I'll bet you guys really enjoy it. No, it is called 'Sui Giao' (water dumpling) Our dumpling is like Wonton with thicker skin and more ingredience inside and is shaped like a gold 'Yuen Pao' (gold bullion?) You put them in boiling water, wait till the water boils again, add a cup of cold water, repeat the process three times (dumplings have been floating three times) then they are done. In the old, old days, poor farmers in the north only get to enjoy the dumpling during Chinese New Year Festival or special family gatherings (usually when someone's leaving home for a long journey.) Now anybody can eat it any time.
Young people (College students or members of churches or civic groups) often have the so-called 'dumpling party' where one or two persons roll the dough into flat round shape (small totilla sort of thing) and others would fold the ingredience into each one and tighten the folds. When there are enough (20-30, depending on the size of the pot) to put into the pot, they would be put into the pot when the water is boiling.
People learn division of labor and many young people find their 'mate' through the dumpling party. [You can fry them also - the steamed ones are
really, really good. (No, I am talking about frying dumplings, not those young people.  ]

Traditionally it comprises with fine chopped pork and Chinese cabbage (Bah choy)with some green onion (salt & pepper to taste - be sure to squeeze out the liquid off the cabbage as much as possible). Another popular version is the 'giou tsai' dumpling made of Chinese chive (giou tsai).
My host family who used to live in Denton had experimented one time using cheese and artificial crab meat. Turned out pretty good, too. (I think it was deep fried like an egg roll, although in Chinese restaurant you will find something called 'crab rangoon' that is shaped like a small four-legged crab with cheese inside...
O oh, I've got to go get a buffet to go tomorrow from House of Lee...

Jackie...bout the won tons or dumplings....
My friend makes won tons and puts cream cheese and crab (with seasonings) in the skins and deep fries it. It is SO good!!
You know how people have chocolate fondue parties? Is that what you are kind of talking about with the college dumpling parties?? ...putting whatever you want into the skins and cook it in the pot?? How fun that would be.

MY STORY SO FAR ~~~~
Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Hey all. I really haven't been posting much, but I'm here. Been doing the daily radiation routine, but tomorrow is my LAST DAY of treatment! I've definitely burned away some fears...and a whole lot more. Ugg, can't wait for my skin to heal. Blessings to all of you, and your dear friends we've been praying for, too.

Glad you dropped by. Have you considered aloe for the radiation induced skin problems if your radiologist hasn't recommended something? I heard putting aloe jell in the refrigerator and then applying it to the burn helps alot.
