Here's a hug back to you and anyone else that needs one. Leslie - are you still here among the group?
That reminds me - hubby and I saw a movie today called "Cherry Blossoms." I hightly recommend it. There is a scene in the movie (in Tokyo) where some young people are are on a street corner with a sign that says 'Free Hugs' and they are just there to give hugs. This is interesting for a society that is often described as "inscrutible!"
It is first run and getting good reviews. See it.

MY STORY SO FAR ~~~~
Found suspicious lump 9/2000
Lumpectomy, then node dissection and port placement
Stage IIB, 8 pos nodes of 18, Grade 3, ER & PR -
Adriamycin 12 weekly, taxotere 4 rounds
36 rads - very little burning
3 mos after rads liver full of tumors, Stage IV Jan 2002, one spot on sternum
Weekly Taxol, Navelbine, Herceptin for 27 rounds to NED!
2003 & 2004 no active disease - 3 weekly Herceptin + Zometa
Jan 2005 two mets to brain - Gamma Knife on Jan 18
All clear until treated cerebellum spot showing activity on Jan 2006 brain MRI & brain PET
Brain surgery on Feb 9, 2006 - no cancer, 100% radiation necrosis - tumor was still dying
Continue as NED while on Herceptin & quarterly Zometa
Fall-2006 - off Zometa - watching one small brain spot (scar?)
2007 - spot/scar in brain stable - finished anticoagulation therapy for clot along my port-a-catheter - 3 angioplasties to unblock vena cava
2008 - Brain and body still NED! Port removed and scans in Dec.
Dec 2008 - stop Herceptin - Vaccine Trial at U of W begun in Oct. of 2011
STILL NED everywhere in Feb 2014 - on wing & prayer
7/14 - Started twice yearly Zometa for my bones
Jan. 2015 checkup still shows NED
2015 Neuropathy in feet - otherwise all OK - still NED.
Same news for 2016 and all of 2017.
Nov of 2017 - had small skin cancer removed from my face. Will have Zometa end of Jan. 2018.

Sounds interesting but a little sad to have to rely on strangers for hugs!!
My daughter in law is Japanese and when my son went to visit her home town he was amazed that people were hired at the large stores to stand at the door and welcome you and wish you a good day. maybe you have this in America but we definatly don't in Ireland? It's tough enough to get the sales people to say thank you

I have never been greeted upon entry in a department store in the U. S. I always enjoyed being greeted in stores and banks in Japan. Some offices send several members of the staff out to say "sayonara" to visitors when they leave. I just went to my organizational meeting today. Most of the staff where we had our meeting today is Japanese. The staff stood on the curb waving and bowing as we pulled away and turned onto the street.

Elaine, did you FREEZE over there all last wk??? The campfire was a real life-saver!! On Fri, my day off, it was only 55 degrees at 8:00am and all day it never went higher then 65 degrees!! (Loved it though!!)

You had 55 in Hilo and we had 58, cloudy and kind of windy in Honolulu. It was good sleeping weather though. Actually I want this weather to last another month. I don't mind wearing sweaters when I go out. Summer is soooo hot and humid over here.
The campfire is a good warmer upper !!

Surgery pathology: No invasive carcinoma present and 17 lymph nodes removed all negative! Only small amount of carcinoma in situ in left breast.
March/April '09, Radiation to left chest wall.
Currently involved in Neratinib clinical trial.

Don't be sad Marie! I brought some cute Goofy stuff to the fire to show you. I have my babydoll holding the baby Goofy and his blanket. I also have the baby Goofy that crawls when you pat it's bottom. So, cheer up little bukaroo and I'll let you play with my Goofy race car. It does all kind of neat things!
