PET/CT fusion and cold

I am going to have my PET/CT fusion on monday(no symptoms just for a routine checkup, as I never had one). I have severe cold and runny nose now. I am wondering whether it will show in the scan as a false positive , may be I should postpone my scan. Please share your thoughts.

Julie, I dont' know about the false/positive aspect, probably a strong possibility, but you do have to fast before hand and are injected with a radioactive substance which can sometimes make one feel not so good. Since you are already not feeling so good, I'd postpone it if it was me.

P.S. You don't want to give your cold to the technician either....
