Have to say I agree with everything everybody said...I have noticed so much up and down with my vision the whole time I have had mets (since '99). So much so that I participated in an NIH Ocular Surface Disease study at the National Eye Institute about this time last year. They took extensive blood work and scraped the cornea of my eyes for DNA samples to run through the PCR, and did a number of tear measurement studies, etc. I am still waiting for the results of the study to be published...it was fascinating. They were very interested in my case because I have a strange symptom-- my vision improves following certain kinds of un-cancer related anti-biotic treatment...and tends to worsen with excessive Herceptin use...which is another reason I don't like to take more Herceptin than is absolutely necessary...but again..all this is just anecdotal info like so much of what I type here is, but they thought it was fascinating...smile--I am such a good lab rat...chuckle chuckle.... They also studied the back of my eye, especially the retina and optic nerve...discovered that I could be a candidate for Macular Degeneration down the line..oh joy...another reason to beef up on the Vitamin A and Lutein- rich foods... If it "ain't" one thing...smile. Good luck to all --Gina
