When I went in for a mastectomy 2 years ago, I found to be allergic to morphine & vicodin. Even codeine did not work for me, instead just ONLY extra strength Tynelol did me good, during my recovery from the mastectomy.
Just curious... if you are allergic too, what else do you take in replacement of morphine and / or vicodin?
Thanks
JoJo,
I think you have to try different one trial and error.
We chose Hydromorphone over the others because it is about 8X stronger than morphine which means you can take LESS of the drug for a similar effect. I think it is also less apt to make you sleepy. Less is best may help.
I've researched others and have a great interest in some of the research results on Tramadol ie: it's touted immune building properties. That may also be an option for you.
Good luck,
Al
